Rachael and Daniel were married at the beautiful Ashfield House in Standish, Lancashire, ten years after they first met. Despite a very windy March day, their wedding was filled with warmth, emotion and unforgettable moments.
Their teaser film tells the story of how a friendship unexpectedly turned into something much more.

“Even before seeing any footage of the day we want to let you know how happy we are with you as our choice of videographer. You both went above and beyond our expectations and helped make our wedding day so wonderful.”
Daniel & Rachael Payne
A Stylish Black and White Wedding at Ashfield House
Rachael has a wonderful eye for design and styled the entire wedding around a timeless black and white theme.
Daniel and the groomsmen arrived in style in white Rolls Royce cars wearing black and white dinner jackets. The bridesmaids wore elegant black dresses while the flower girls were dressed in white, creating a beautifully simple and classic look throughout the day.

Morning Preparations at Ashfield House
I arrived early at Ashfield House to capture the calm before the celebrations began. Staff were adding the final touches while the bridal party got ready in the beautiful preparation room filled with natural light, large mirrors and comfortable sofas.
With fruit, cakes, coffee and even stronger drinks available, it was the perfect relaxed space to start the day.
Hair and makeup were provided by The Bridal Artist Co, creating a flawless look for Rachael.
Meanwhile Sarah started the morning at the groom's house capturing Daniel and the groomsmen getting ready. Her sewing skills were quickly called upon when a bow tie broke just before they left for the venue.

When Sarah Saved the Dress
After capturing details of the dress and bridal accessories it was time for Rachael to step into her wedding dress.
A small clasp mishap briefly caused panic but Sarah once again came to the rescue with her sewing kit and saved the day much to everyone's relief.

An Emotional First Look with Dad
One of the most emotional moments of the morning came when Rachael's dad saw her in her dress for the first time.
He was completely speechless.
We captured the moment from two angles so we could see both of their reactions. These quiet emotional moments often become some of the most treasured memories in a wedding film.

Letters Before the Ceremony
Before the ceremony Rachael read a letter from Daniel, something she had been looking forward to all morning.
As many couples know, sometimes it is easier to write down feelings than say them out loud.
Later we also recorded Daniel reading his letter while Rachael was meeting with the registrar so those words could become part of their wedding film.
The Ceremony at Ashfield House
The aisle walk was performed live by Mark The Piano Guy, and it was the first time I have ever heard a huge cheer go up as the doors opened for the bride.
We filmed the ceremony using three cameras to capture every moment. Sarah and I filmed from the front corners while another camera recorded the entire room from the back.
Audio is incredibly important for storytelling so we recorded from multiple microphones including the cameras, a hidden microphone in the flowers, one on the registrar and a small microphone worn by the groom which blended perfectly into his white shirt.
Capturing clear audio allows us to create a rich cinematic soundtrack for the final wedding film.

A Windy Confetti Walk
After the ceremony the weather stayed dry just long enough for the confetti walk.
The wind made things a little chaotic but it also created some incredible slow motion moments as we filmed the couple walking through the confetti.

Working with James Morris Photography
It was a pleasure to work alongside the wonderful James Morris.
Not only is James a genuinely lovely person, he cares deeply about his couples and it really shows in his work.
While James captured the formal photographs we filmed the moments happening around the edges of the day. The natural interactions, laughter and quiet moments that couples often miss.
Sarah likes to call these her sneaky shots.
Time for the Couple
Later we took Rachael and Daniel out into the beautiful grounds of Ashfield House with James to capture some moments of just the two of them.
These quiet moments away from the guests often become a favourite part of the day. A chance to pause, reflect and enjoy being newly married.
Ashfield House provides a stunning backdrop for these moments with its beautifully kept gardens and grounds.

Evening Celebrations
The evening celebrations were hosted by The DFC Experience who welcomed the bridal party and the newly married couple into the reception to huge applause.
We captured the speeches using multiple microphones to ensure nothing was missed. While I filmed the speaker and top table, Sarah focused on capturing the reactions of guests around the room.
Dessert brought something a little different with a lively round of Bongo Bingo which is becoming increasingly popular at weddings.

Wedding reception room styling Ashfield House
With the sun setting early in March we had to move quickly to capture some evening portraits.
James brought out lights and a smoke machine which allowed us to create some dramatic studio style images outside the venue.

A Quiet Ending to the Day
The evening finished with a live singer and saxophonist accompanying the DJ.
At the couple's request everyone made an Irish goodbye, leaving Rachael and Daniel to enjoy a quiet final dance together.
Returning the Next Morning for Drone Footage
The wind had been too strong to safely fly the drone during the wedding day.
So the following morning I returned to Ashfield House to capture the aerial footage of the venue with Rachael and Daniel.
Despite the celebrations the night before they both looked surprisingly refreshed.
