Beth and Owen’s wedding at Beeston Manor arrived right at the start of the mini heatwave, and honestly, the timing could not have been more perfect.
The sun was shining all day, the countryside around the venue looked incredible, and it also happened to be our first time filming at Beeston Manor since the owners completed their huge new makeover project.
And what a transformation it is.

A Proper Job at Beeston Manor
Owner John and his team have built an entirely new wing called The Meadows, featuring a brand new bridal suite, prep area, courtyard, and guest rooms complete with hot tubs.
It’s all been incredibly well thought through and fits perfectly alongside the original venue buildings. Throughout the new wing there are lots of subtle little details, but my favourite was a large stone built into the wall featuring John’s name, the year 2026, and the words:
A Proper Job.
Honestly, that sums the whole place up perfectly.
Wedding coordinator Jenny was on hand throughout the day and, as always, was unbelievably helpful from start to finish. She gave us a full tour of the new spaces before the day properly got underway.
While I stayed with Beth and the bridal party filming prep in the new suites, Sarah headed over to capture the lads getting ready in The Den.
Previously the old bridal suite, it’s now been transformed into a dedicated groom prep room complete with air hockey, mini fridge, shower facilities, and plenty of space for the groomsmen to get ready properly.
A very good idea considering most groom prep rooms usually involve balancing ties on the edge of a pub table somewhere.

A Great Team to Work Alongside
Working alongside us for the day was photographer Rebecca Haywood, and from the first few minutes it was obvious we all approached weddings in a very similar way.
Relaxed, natural, and unobtrusive.
Which was probably a good thing considering we later discovered during the wedding breakfast that we’ll also be filming her brother’s wedding in a couple of weeks.
No pressure then.
Sunshine, Music & Tall Grass Photography
The ceremony itself was full of energy and emotion, with live music and readings from family members helping create a really uplifting atmosphere throughout.
Once Beth and Owen officially tied the knot, guests headed outside into the sunshine for drinks, confetti, and music in the gardens provided by Owen’s brother playing guitar and singing.
Apparently he only learnt during lockdown because he was bored and has already played at two weddings since.
Honestly, he was very good.
While Rebecca worked through some formal photographs, Sarah armed herself with the long lens and disappeared off in search of candid moments.
I genuinely think this might now be her favourite part of the wedding day. Although recently she seems to be taking things slightly too far. At one point I genuinely couldn’t find her anywhere before spotting her fully laid down in the long grass trying to get a particularly atmospheric shot of guests enjoying the sunshine.
Commitment to the craft.

Open Fields & Golden Light
The countryside surrounding Beeston Manor is absolutely perfect for filming.
Open rolling fields stretch out behind the venue and there’s even a small aircraft landing strip mown directly into one of the fields at the back.
So after speeches and the wedding breakfast, we took full advantage of the evening light and headed out with Beth and Owen for some relaxed footage away from the guests.
Meanwhile everyone else was being entertained by a VW camper van photobooth from Warren’s VW Photobooth parked up outside.
We captured some lovely natural footage of the couple walking through the tall grass and in front of the old barn before switching things up slightly with the bridal party.
At one point the groomsmen launched Owen into the air for some slow motion footage which thankfully went entirely to plan.
Always a relief.
We also managed to squeeze in some sparkler shots before the evening really kicked off.

Ending the Day in Golden Hour
Just before the cake cut and first dance, the light turned perfect.
So we quickly escaped one final time to capture a drone shot along the driveway as Beth and Owen walked together into the sunset while the drone slowly lifted to reveal the surrounding countryside glowing in golden hour light.
And where was Sarah during all of this?
Hidden in the tall grass again, obviously.
A cake cut, first dance, a few songs on the dance floor, and that was us all wrapped up and ready for a very well earned break after an incredible day.
