Amy and Chris got married on the Friday before the bank holiday weekend, the first of two weddings for us that weekend, and what a way to start it.
Their wedding took place at their own small holding just outside Clitheroe, surrounded by animals, fields, family, and some incredible countryside views. It felt relaxed from the moment we arrived and very much centred around the things they love most.

We arrived around 10am and quickly got to work capturing details and the dress inside the house, making the most of the large windows and beautiful natural light pouring into the rooms.
Outside, there was already plenty going on.
A one week old foal had recently arrived and spent most of the morning enthusiastically testing out her new legs while her mum kept a close eye nearby. She only seemed to sleep for a few minutes at a time before springing back into action again.
Later in the day Amy and Chris introduced us to their other horses, all of whom seemed very interested in why their humans were suddenly dressed so smartly.
And the horses weren’t the only animals on site either. There were alpacas, goats, dogs, and even a pig wandering around the small holding. Sadly the chickens and ducks hadn’t fared quite as well recently, which probably means there are some very well fed foxes roaming around Clitheroe at the moment.

Morning Preparations
While Sarah headed off to a nearby Airbnb to capture Chris getting ready with his groomsmen, I stayed with Amy and the bridal party at the house.
Photographer Kirsty from Alfred & Co joined us for the day and immediately matched our laid back approach perfectly. It’s always noticeable when suppliers naturally work well together and the whole day flowed really easily because of it.
The setting for the wedding itself was incredible and we were extremely lucky with the weather. Sunshine all day transformed the outdoor ceremony area and marquee into the perfect countryside wedding setup.
The ceremony was led expertly by celebrant Lara, with Amy walking down the aisle alongside her dad while a family member played a mini grand piano.
One of the standout moments came straight after the ceremony when Amy and Chris walked back down the aisle and somehow perfectly pulled off a dip kiss without ever having practised it beforehand.
Not something I’d usually recommend… but they absolutely nailed it.

Sunshine, Tug of War & Fire Pits
Guests spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine, with a few people perhaps getting a little more sun than intended.
Canapés and a brilliant wedding breakfast from Nomad Catering kept everyone well fed, particularly the huge selection of meats served throughout the afternoon.
The men then attempted to work some of it off with several fiercely competitive games of tug of war.
The teams were roughly split into “Amy’s lads” versus “the farmers,” although Chris seemed slightly embarrassed when the older farmers comfortably won the opening round.
Thankfully some pride was restored with a 2–1 comeback victory.
Music throughout the day came from Charlie Swainston, who created a brilliant atmosphere singing and playing guitar while guests relaxed outside in the sunshine.
As evening arrived, The Rock & Soulers took over and quickly filled the dance floor.

A Perfect End to the Day
One of the loveliest evening touches was the fire pit area, complete with marshmallows for guests and one particularly special fire pit featuring Amy and Chris’s names and wedding date cut directly into the metal.
As the sun started setting, we slipped away briefly with the couple for one final drone shot, capturing them walking back toward the party while the evening light disappeared behind the countryside.
The perfect ending to an amazing day.
A brilliant couple, a lovely family, incredible suppliers, and such a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish.
The best possible start to a very busy wedding weekend.
