Arguably the most famous wedding venue in the world, Gretna Green was a destination for one of our couples this summer.

After Anthony and Charlotte had their plans disrupted by Covid they decided that Gretna Hall in Gretna Green was an ideal wedding venue. Fortunately so did all their family and friends because they all drove up for the occasion.

The Clandestine Marriages Act 1753 prevented couples under the age of 21 marrying in England without their parents consent. As it was still legal in Scotland to marry without consent young couples began crossing the border into Scotland to marry. Although consent is no longer necessary it still provides a very romantic destination venue.
